SYSCOM’s client is seeking a Contract Manager/Project Manager for a contract to hire role in a hybrid setting, to provide procurement support which helps the client to achieve reliable, cost-efficient and timely goods and services. This position will assist in coordination with Procurement and Legal to ensure the client is complying with all mandated purchasing and legal requirements.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Initiate, develop and implement Information Technology related contracts. Assists Contract Manager Lead with:
- Interface with various levels of personnel and management and throughout the client, as well as with external vendors and contractors.
- Prepare requests for proposals and administer the contracts until performance is completed.
- Perform all steps of the procurement process such as kick-off and pre-proposal meetings, review of documents, tracking approvals, facilitating legal and purchasing review and moving contract documents and amendments through the collaboration and approval process within the client.
- Monitor all financial aspects of assigned contracts (e.g. monitoring funding, burn rate, and expenditures).
- Monitor day-to-day procurement operations within client, including supplier performance monitoring, contract expiration monitoring / renewals, contract scope monitoring / change development / dispute coordination.
- Ensures all relevant documentation accompany contracts, and maintaining digital and hard copies of relevant documentation.
The candidate MUST have documented experience in the following areas to be considered. Minimum qualifications include:
- 2 years of contract management experience
- 2 years of experience in Information Technology administrative support.
- 4 years of experience with MS Office Software.
- Fundamental knowledge of Infrastructure concepts.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
- Exceptional organization and coordination skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work as part of a team, independently, and multi-task.
Preferred qualifications, it’s highly desirable to also have the following experience:
- Knowledge of IT purchasing for government entities. (Federal, State or Local)
- Experience in managing high profile programs for enterprise solutions.
- Ability to work onsite during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, in Towson, MD (2 days a week remote and 3 days per week onsite in Townson, MD).
- Ability to provide at least two references, including phone numbers, where the candidate performed similar services to this position.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive security background check in order to be hired.
