As a key member of the finance team, you will help translate complex financial data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making and organizational growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining program budgets within enterprise systems, preparing and communicating monthly and quarterly financial reports, and assisting with financial statement compilation. You will also reconcile subsidiary ledgers and general ledger accounts while supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Your analytical skills will be vital in evaluating financial information, streamlining processes, and ensuring strong internal controls. Daily tasks include data reconciliation, report preparation, journal entry processing, and supporting financial audits-each contributing to the organization's overall financial health.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience with reconciling subsidiary ledgers and general ledger accounts
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to improve process efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining internal controls
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with financial reporting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems beyond Those listed
- Knowledge of government or public sector accounting standards
- Prior experience supporting financial audits or compliance activities
- Proficiency with NEIS and PeopleSoft
Optional Additional Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in finance or accounting roles
- Prior experience working with public sector organizations or government agencies
- Prior experience working in the renewable energy field
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (onsite and remote) - will be a mix of onsite in Albany - required
- Ability to work a 37.5 hour work week
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
