Job Description
The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continual improvement of Northwell's multi-cloud environments. This role collaborates with Northwell product/solution teams and Enterprise Architecture team to ensure cloud-hosted and cloud-native workloads (applications, data, and analytics) designs, configurations and deployments are continually secure, reliable, resilient, and comply with Northwell's policies, controls and standards.
Job Responsibility
1.Acts as a Cloud Subject Matter Expert to prioritize on-going backlog cloud requests and improvements.
2.Works with Northwell stakeholders to migrate existing applications and data services
3.Advises Northwell product/solution teams on secure, reliable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud workload design and builds.
4.Contributes to standardizing cloud environments and services with version-controlled and reusable blueprints and configuration templates using infrastructure-as-code and automation cloud management capabilities.
5.Understands and manages cloud service provider service level agreements and objectives.
6.Actively manages cloud policies, controls, and standards using cloud governance procedures and guardrails to continually comply with Northwell, regulatory and legal requirements.
7.Identifies and evangelizes on available and emerging cloud services
8.Works with Finance team on design and implementation of cloud pricing, discounts, and chargeback models to help product/solution teams forecast, budget and manage cloud costs and usage.
9.Contributes to "Authority-to-Operate" process for onboarding safe, reliable, and resilient new cloud providers and services.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
5-7 years of relevant experience, required.
HIGHLY PREFERRED SKILLS:
Cloud Architecture Experience: 8 + years of experience in a cloud architect role, with a strong, demonstrable emphasis on designing and deploying enterprise-scale solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
Core Google Cloud Platform Expertise: Proven design and solutioning experience across a wide range of core Google Cloud Platform services ( IaaS and PaaS), such as Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub. GCE/ GCVE. GKE a plus.
Automation & CI/CD : 5 + years of practical experience designing and implementing cloud automation and robust CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable application delivery, including GitHub Actions.
Code-Driven Infrastructure: Hands-on proficiency with modern Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code tools (e.g. Terraform and Sentinel). Experience building and maintaining reusable, version-controlled modules and policies a plus.
HA/DR/BC Architecture Proficiency: Proven expertise in designing and implementing high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BC) solutions, including multi-region architectures, automated failover mechanisms, backup and recovery strategies, and RTO/RPO planning across cloud infrastructure and services.
Consultative & Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to act as a trusted advisor and influence technical teams, business leads, and executive leadership.
Proactive Problem Solver: A self-directed and proactive mindset with a track record of taking ownership, navigating ambiguity, and leading complex technical initiatives from concept to completion.
