Job DescriptionYour RoleThe Developer & Employee Experience Team serves at the direction of the Sr. Director of Technical Engineering, enabling BSC's journey to the cloud. The Platform Engineer, Experienced, will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain our Internal Developer Platform (BlueStack), enabling operational excellence for Blue Shield of CA, our trading partners, and provider networks.
ResponsibilitiesYour Work In this role, you will:
- Deploy and support our provider agnostic Cloud Enablement Developer Platform (BlueStack), actively contributing to the achievement of our future state goals and ensuring current success and operational excellence
- Operate within a GitOps framework, collaborating with team members to accelerate capabilities and practices for the product, team, department, and our partners across the organization
- Collaborate with team members to implement and manage reusable and scalable IaC solutions leveraging Ansible to automate Azure cloud environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and other cloud services
- Support and maintain cloud enablement solutions (Kubernetes, OpenShift), staying informed of OEM upgrades and executing all aspects of lifecycle management
- Maintain detailed system diagrams and technical documentation and specifications as required and necessary to ensure and maintain consistently exceptional quality in our operations
- Assist in integrating IaC practices into the software development lifecycle to ensure seamless infrastructure changes
- Consult, guide and assist users, developers, analysts, and leaders across all levels of the organization in leveraging the Platform's capabilities to solve business problems
- Assist in ensuring compliance with our solutions and the security of company data and assets
QualificationsYour Knowledge and Experience - Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Typically Requires 5 or more years of professional experience serving as a technical expert and thought leader in enterprise Platform development, and maintenance
- Requires hands on experience provisioning and supporting cloud environments in a heavily regulated, DevOps environment
- Advanced proficiency in shell-scripting, Java, Python, and JavaScript for automation and integration tasks
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Azure
- Prefers current AZ-104 Certification or equivalent knowledge
- Current RedHat DO-007 and/or DO-417 and/or DO-374 Certification or equivalent knowledge preferred
- Kubernetes experience strongly desired
- Additional Cloud Hosting Provider certifications preferred
- Experience working in an agile development environment is strongly desired
- Experience working remotely is strongly desired
