Job Title: SAP Technical Architect
Location: Milwaukee , WI (While the role is remote, candidates local to Milwaukee or those with the flexibility to attend in-person workshops 2 3 times per month are preferred.)
Duration: 6 Months
SAP Technical Architect to join a large-scale S/4HANA implementation. The project is currently in Phase 0 (Planning & Estimation).
Job Description:
As an Architect, the resource will play a critical advisory role in defining the technical roadmap, estimating costs for Phase 1, and leading workshop discussions to explore architectural possibilities. This is a non-hands-on, advisory position focused on high-level strategy and cloud transition.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Advisory: Provide expert guidance on SAP S/4HANA architecture, specifically transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-based environments.
Phase 1 Definition: Support the planning and estimation of Phase 1 (scheduled to begin April/May), providing clear definitions of technical requirements and cost structures.
BTP Strategy: Lead the strategy for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) implementation, identifying potential challenges and integration opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in planning workshops with business and technical stakeholders to discuss technical possibilities and project scope.
Configuration Analysis: Advise on "watch points" and architectural nuances under both RISE with SAP and non-RISE configurations.
Required Qualifications
SAP S/4HANA Expertise: Proven experience architecting and implementing SAP S/4HANA solutions.
BTP Implementation: Strong knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and how it fits into a modern SAP landscape.
Advisory Experience: Ability to provide high-level technical leadership and strategic advice without requiring hands-on system configuration.
Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive leadership.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Industry Experience: Previous experience within the Utilities sector is highly preferred.
Cloud Architecture: Specific experience with RISE with SAP vs. on-premise/private cloud trade-offs.
Geography: While the role is remote, candidates local to Milwaukee or those with the flexibility to attend in-person workshops 2 3 times per month are preferred.
Project Timeline
Current Status: Phase 0 (Planning/Definition)
Implementation Kickoff: Scheduled for April/May 2026
Contract Length: Initial 6-month engagement with a high likelihood of extension to cover the duration of Phase 1.
Target start date is late Jan/early Feb.
