Role Overview
The Business Program Manager will lead the FSMA 204 / Food Traceability program, driving execution, adoption, and compliance across enterprise. This is a mid-to-senior, business-side role partnering closely with an IT Program Manager, business leaders, and a Steering Committee to ensure alignment, governance, and successful rollout.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of the FSMA 204 Traceability program from planning through enterprise-wide implementation
- Act as the business-side Program Manager, aligning business processes, traceability solutions, and execution strategy
- Drive cross-functional coordination across Distribution, Store Operations, Fulfillment, Merchandising, Supplier Relations, and external partners
- Develop and manage integrated program plans, including rollout waves, training schedules, readiness checklists, playbooks, budgets, resources, and risk management
- Own site rollout execution, ensuring training completion, operational readiness, and on-time deployment
- Establish business governance, defining ownership, stakeholders, and execution guidelines
- Lead stakeholder management and communications, ensuring transparency at all organizational levels
- Facilitate Steering Committee alignment, surfacing decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations
- Track progress against milestones, schedules, and budgets, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies
- Deliver clear executive-level status reporting
- Maintain comprehensive program documentation (plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, artifacts)
- Ensure knowledge sharing, documentation accessibility, and long-term adoption
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Program or Project Management experience
- Proven ability to lead complex programs, manage risk, and drive decisions to resolution
- Strong stakeholder management, including conflict resolution and relationship building
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Solid business acumen
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- High adaptability and ability to learn new concepts quickly and processes
Nice to Have
- Experience with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) programs
- Knowledge of retail supply chain, supplier engagement, or food chain operations
- Exposure to food traceability concepts
