Title: Senior Audio-Video Operations Specialist
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities:
• Own Tier-2/3 incidents across live and on-demand streaming; troubleshoot acquisition,
encoding, packaging, encryption, origin, and CDN layers using OTT expertise.
• Lead real-time triage, major incident response, outage bridges, SLAs, escalations, and
post-mortems using ITIL, ServiceNow, Jira, and structured RCA methodologies.
• Diagnose complex audio/video issues including black screens, DRM failures, SSAI/CSAI
defects, lip-sync, captions, latency drift, and signal impairments.
• Execute live channel launches, event readiness, redundancy validation, and failover
testing across AWS MediaLive, MediaConnect, MediaPackage, MediaTailor, Elemental,
Harmonic, and Ateme.
• Support premium live events and high-concurrency spikes; optimize stream stability,
low-latency delivery, regionalization, blackout enforcement, and CDN behavior.
• Troubleshoot IP video transport and hybrid infrastructure; multicast/unicast, QoS,
TCP/UDP, VLANs, BGP fundamentals, Cisco/Juniper CLI.
• Monitor QoE/QoS with TAG, Telestream, Sencore, Medius, Conviva, NPAW, Mux,
Datadog, Grafana, Splunk; analyze player telemetry and stream-level analytics.
• Resolve monetization and security issues: Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay DRM, ad-
beaconing, watermarking, geo-fencing, content protection systems.
• Drive reliability improvements via automation, monitoring enhancements, architectural
recommendations, and operational process upgrades.
• Manage multi-CDN operations, traffic steering, origin shielding, and CDN failure
isolation.
• Apply SRE-inspired video reliability practices: failover validation, chaos testing,
redundancy modeling.
• Maintain SOPs, infrastructure documentation, vendor escalations, backlog tickets, and
provide technical leadership in 24x7 operations.
Skills & Expertise:
• Live large-scale streaming operations for Tier-1 sports and high-concurrency events
• End-to-end cloud-native video pipelines: AWS MediaLive, MediaConnect,
MediaPackage, MediaTailor, Elemental, Harmonic, Ateme
• OTT chain troubleshooting: acquisition - encode - package - encrypt - origin - CDN -
playback
• Low-latency live streaming optimization, large-event surge management
• SSAI & client-side ad workflows, advanced DRM (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay)
• Blackout enforcement, geo-fencing, regionalization
• MPEG-TS, HLS, DASH, CMAF, SCTE-35/104 signaling
• Advanced PCR/PTS/DTS timing, lip-sync, loudness compliance
• Professional codecs/audio formats: H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, AAC, AC-3/E-AC-3, PCM
• Troubleshoot black screens, macroblocking, frozen video, audio dropouts
• IP video delivery: RTP/RTCP, TCP/UDP, multicast/unicast, hybrid on-prem/cloud
infrastructure
• Network troubleshooting fundamentals: QoS, VLANs, BGP basics
• Advanced monitoring: Datadog, Grafana, Splunk
• Ticketing/workflow: ServiceNow, Jira; SOPs & documentation
