Senior Controls Engineer Remote (US Only)

Our client is expanding their advanced automation support team and is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer who thrives in fastpaced, uptimecritical environments. If you love solving complex controls challenges and keeping largescale automated systems running flawlessly, this role will feel like home.

What You ll Do

Deliver remote technical support with fast, SLAdriven response times
Troubleshoot escalations across PLCs, IPCs, drives, motion systems, pneumatics, sensors, and vision systems
Review system logs, ladder logic, ST modules, Codesys tasks, and diagnostics
Deploy logic updates, adjust sequencing, and reconfigure hardware mappings
Guide onsite technicians through structured troubleshooting
Document findings, fixes, and mitigation steps
Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture improvements
Lead deepdives and rootcause analyses for recurring issues

Required Qualifications

5+ years of handson Controls Engineering experience
Strong commissioning background with industrial machinery or automation cells
Expertlevel AllenBradley PLC programming (Studio5000, Logix5000, AOI/UDFBs, motion, safety)
Proficiency with Codesysbased control systems (tasks, libraries, IPC deployment)
Industrial communication protocols: EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus, CANOpen
Strong electrical & mechanical troubleshooting skills
Experience with servo systems, VFDs, pneumatics, and sensors
Familiarity with barcode/vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Dataman)
Comfortable working independently in a remote support model

Must be USbased

Preferred Qualifications

Linux OS experience (logs, runtime debugging, IPC configuration)
AWS ecosystem familiarity
Background in fulfillment, packaging automation, automotive, or largescale production
HMI development (FactoryTalk View or Codesys Visualization)
Experience with VPNbased remote access tools
Prior missioncritical production support experience
