Power Systems Asset Management Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL (travel required w/in Hillsborough Polk County)
Permanent/Direct Hire
Pay: $120,000/yr
Engineers in Asset Management work with grid owners and operators (generation, transmission, substation, distribution) to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of power generation and delivery systems. This role involves providing technical leadership and supervising Technicians/Maintenance Specialists, Engineers, and Analysts. The Engineer, Asset Management leads reliability teams, supports capital projects, and understands how assets in the modern electric grid are designed to perform and has the skills and knowledge to develop systems/analytics to detect reliability and performance failures proactively. The Engineer, Asset Management utilizes this knowledge to develop plans to proactively mitigate failures and maintain performance including operational limits, capital investment, maintenance outages, spares and other mitigation.
The Engineer, Asset Management also responds to outages, oversees major maintenance, and provides technical guidance on electrical engineering and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include working with generators, power plant controllers, motors, inverters, switchgear, transformers, batteries, and emergency generators, while ensuring compliance with NERC and OATT standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead engineer(s)/technician(s)/Analysts(s) to augment plant technical staff and support technical needs in the areas of electrical system, equipment, and integrity. This includes providing guidance and supervision to the NERC Compliance program as well as establishing and maintaining appropriate Level of contract resources necessary to meet varying electrical manpower requirements necessary to support capital project and O&M work assignments.
