Description:
This position will serve as a platform administrator for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), consisting of 3 distinct platforms (Production, Test and Development/Disaster Recovery). The EDW provides Enterprise Data Warehousing services to executive branch agencies as well as the Administrator Offices statewide.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing operating system guidance along with EDW security expertise for the systems as well as advising the Agencies on disaster recovery planning strategies related to the EDW and their business applications. The position is also responsible for platform performance monitoring and resolving performance issues. This position provides direct technical expertise to agency DBAs and specialists across the enterprise.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years - Teradata Platform Administration including the following: Teradata database, Teradata node management, Teradata Viewpoint administration, Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU), Teradata vendor upgrades
- 3+ years - Monitoring & Observability including the following: Teradata ecosystem health monitoring, PSIM (Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring) administration
- 3+ years - Performance & Workload Management including the following: Performance tuning and resource optimization, Teradata workload management
- 3+ years - Teradata backup & recovery
- 3+ years - Automation & Scripting including the following: Upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance, scripting – BASH, Perl, Python, Glink
- 3+ years - Extract Transform Load (ETL)
- 3+ years - Cloud & Infrastructure including the following: Cloud computing fundamentals, resource allocation, networking, preferably MS Azure, Unix/Linux knowledge, Firewall knowledge
- 3+ years - Security & Compliance including the following: Audits & security plans, Federal requirements – NIST 800-53, IRS Pub 1075, SSA, Medicaid, etc
- 3+ years - Statistics
