Platform Engineer – GE ADMS

Position Overview
The Platform Engineer will play a key role in designing, deploying, and supporting the technology platform for a
GE Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). This role focuses on building a scalable, secure, and
resilient application environment that supports real-time grid operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on
engineering experience across container orchestration, application development, and DevOps pipelines, along with
the ability to integrate and optimize complex enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain platform components required for GE ADMS deployment, including compute,
storage, networking, and middleware layers.
Build and manage Kubernetes-based environments to support microservices, containerized applications, and
system scaling.
Collaborate with software, integration, and operations teams to ensure successful configuration, installation, and
lifecycle management of the ADMS platform.
Develop, deploy, and optimize APIs, services, and automation tools using languages such as Java, Python, or
JavaScript.
Support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, or related DevOps technologies.
Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to support high availability and root-cause analysis.
Work with SQL-based databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) to support data integration and system performance
requirements.
Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with industry operational and cybersecurity standards.
Troubleshoot platform performance issues and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
Strong technical experience in at least several of the following:
Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, management)
Java, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
DevOps tools: GitHub, Jenkins or similar
Microservices & RESTful APIs
SQL databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL
Experience supporting or integrating complex enterprise platforms or mission-critical systems.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with engineering, operations, and vendor
stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues across multiple technical domains.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with GE ADMS, DMS, OMS, or other utility operational technologies.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, etc.).
Knowledge of utility operational workflows, SCADA integration, or real-time systems.
Experience implementing high-availability platforms and disaster recovery environments.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent
experience).
