Quality Analyst (ETL/Automation Testing)

Role- QA (ETL Testing) Location- Newark, NJ (Hybrid) Duration- 12+ Months

We are seeking a skilled Automation Tester with expertise in UI, ETL, and API testing to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of applications across multiple layers of the technology stack. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Automation Development

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, ETL, and API components.
• Implement regression and functional test suites to validate new features and bug fixes.

UI Testing

• Develop automated scripts for web and mobile applications using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Validate user interface functionality, usability, and responsiveness across browsers and devices.

ETL Testing

• Create automated test cases to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Verify data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across source and target systems.
• Perform validation of large datasets and data pipelines.

API Testing

• Automate REST and SOAP API tests using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
• Validate request/response payloads, authentication, error handling, and performance.

Collaboration

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Reporting & Documentation

• Generate detailed test reports and defect logs.
• Document automation processes, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in automation testing for UI, ETL, and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools/frameworks:
• UI: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright
• ETL: Informatica, Talend, SQL-based validation
• API: Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, Karate
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of SQL and database testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Exposure to data warehouses and big data testing.
• ISTQB or similar testing certification.
