Overview

We are seeking a full-time Systems Test Engineer 2 in our Chandler, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining automation frameworks, supporting conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by providing system testing support for moderately complex integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product lines. This role also identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and tools.

Essential Functions
  • Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks from scratch using Python, Selenium (for web), and Appium (for mobile/embedded interfaces)
  • Maintain test environments, continuous integration (CI) pipelines, and test assets
  • Create automation pipelines integrated with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Write and maintain automation utilities and supporting tools (Python-based)
  • Support test environment configuration, including simulators, device farms, virtual machines, or hardware-in-the-loop systems
  • Manage repositories using Git, ensuring branch hygiene, code reviews, and best practices.
  • Communicates status and schedule for the system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries
  • Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs
  • Provides troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause
  • Provides clear and sufficient details on issues sufficient for internal or external customers
  • Identifies and implement improvements to system testing processes and guidance
  • Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
  • Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities to develop timely solutions

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or another related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions
  • Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

Desired Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in test automation, system testing, or software QA engineering.
  • Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience using:
    • Python for scripting, test automation, and framework development
    • Selenium for web UI automation
    • Appium for mobile or device-level automation
    • Git for version control and repository managementPrevious work or internship experience with Garmin related products
  • Pilot's License (Aviation Only)
