Job Title: VDI / Windows Administrator

Location: On-Site – Miami (Coral Gables)

Contract: 6-Month W2 Contract

Role Overview

The VDI / Windows Administrator will support and enhance the organization’s virtual and physical desktop environments. This role focuses on assessing existing infrastructure, standardizing provisioning and imaging processes, and ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of VDI and Windows workstation environments. The position requires strong hands-on technical expertise and close collaboration with infrastructure and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial assessment of the existing IT infrastructure, with a focus on VDI environments and Windows workstation builds, to define scope and priorities
• Design and implement standardized imaging processes for both virtual and physical machines using centralized imaging servers
• Coordinate logistics for shipping new and replacement physical machines to various sites, minimizing downtime and operational disruption
• Develop and maintain standardized procedures for provisioning and deploying VDIs and Windows workstations
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations, VDIs, and TCAs, ensuring consistent and secure system configurations
• Configure virtual machine networking components (e.g., vSwitches) and manage virtual storage additions (vHDs) for VMs
• Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including administrative procedures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and patching issues impacting workstations, TCAs, and VDI environments
• Implement system performance monitoring and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and operational stability
• Perform performance tuning and optimization across VMware and Windows environments
• Lead capacity planning efforts to support scalability and future growth
• Provide technical support, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and participate in disaster recovery planning and failover testing

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) concepts and architectures
• Hands-on experience with VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon and/or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
• Experience supporting Windows workstation and virtualized environments
• Ability to plan, schedule, and execute technical projects independently
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
