Role Overview
The Lead Program Manager will provide end-to-end ownership of a large Business Intelligence organization within a complex Retail enterprise. This role is accountable for driving intake, prioritization, capacity planning, delivery execution, and stakeholder alignment across multiple BI platforms and teams. The individual will establish a scalable operating model, ensure predictable delivery, and continuously improve BI effectiveness through standardization and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Delivery Ownership
Own the BI program charter, roadmap, milestones, and delivery outcomes
Drive initiatives from intake through execution, release, and adoption
Manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination proactively
Demand Intake & Prioritization
Design and run a structured BI intake and demand management process
Facilitate prioritization using business impact, value, urgency, and capacity
Maintain a transparent, well-governed BI portfolio and backlog
Capacity Planning & Resource Management
Plan and optimize capacity across dashboards, reports, ad-hoc analytics, and enhancements
Align skills and resources across Tableau, Looker, Power BI, and SQL workloads
Identify bottlenecks, skill gaps, and drive cross-training initiatives
Stakeholder Communication & Governance
Serve as the primary point of contact for business and technology leadership
Provide executive-level status updates, risk summaries, and decision inputs
Lead governance forums such as steering committees, planning reviews, and retrospectives
Operating Model, Standardization & Quality
Establish standard BI delivery processes, templates, and quality benchmarks
Ensure consistency in development, testing, deployment, and documentation
Use delivery metrics to improve predictability, throughput, and transparency
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Promote self-service analytics, reusable BI assets, and automation
Partner with data engineering teams on Google Cloud Platform to improve scalability and performance
Balance innovation with strong governance and delivery discipline
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong program management experience in BI, Analytics, or Data organizations
Hands-on understanding of Google Cloud Platform-based data ecosystems
Practical experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, and SQL
Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams
Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
Retail or consumer analytics experience
Experience transforming or scaling BI operating models
Exposure to agile or hybrid delivery frameworks
