RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that has an exciting opportunity in Downtown Houston, TX for a Data Management Associate II. This position is onsite 4 days/week with an ability to work remotely on Fridays after training period. This is a long-term contract position with opportunity to convert to a full-time employee at a later time.
Summary:
The Data Management Associate II plays a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and trustworthiness across the enterprise. Unlike traditional data-entry roles, this position is a hands-on Data Governance (DG) enablement role responsible for administering DG platforms, monitoring data quality, supporting metadata standards, and facilitating organization-wide adoption of DG processes and tools.
This role is essential toward clean, reliable, transparent, and governed data. The Data Management Associate II will partner closely with the Data Governance team to operationalize governance requirements, support DG workflows, and ensure enterprise alignment with evolving data standards. This role is centered on data governance operations, platform support, and ensuring data is trusted, discoverable, and consistently managed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer and support Atlan (active metadata management) and Monte Carlo (data reliability monitoring)
* Configure and maintain metadata standards, governance workflows, user access, and DG platform settings
* Monitor data quality, data lineage, and metadata completeness across enterprise datasets
* Drive enterprise adoption of DG tools by providing guidance, training, and technical enablement to business and IT users
Data Integrity & Quality:
* Perform ongoing data quality checks, audits, and validation activities across multiple systems
* Identify and remediate data inconsistencies, gaps, or governance violations
* Ensure clean, trusted, and discoverable data by enforcing governance rules and quality thresholds
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
* 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, or Metadata Management
* Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, governance frameworks, and data stewardship principles
Operational Governance Support:
* Partner with the Data Governance team to operationalize policies, controls, and approval workflows
* Assist in the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of data documentation, SOPs, and governance standards
* Coordinate DG activities across distributed teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy
* Facilitate communication between business units, IT partners, and governance stakeholders
General Data Management Responsibilities:
* Enter, update, and maintain data across internal systems with high accuracy
* Support data audits and compliance efforts related to internal and external governance requirements
* Generate operational summaries to support DG oversight (not analytical reporting)
* Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive data
Hands-on experience supporting or administering DG tools such as:
* Atlan (highly preferred)
* Monte Carlo (highly preferred)
* Or similar DG platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC)
Ability to support:
* Platform configuration
* Governance workflows
* Data quality monitoring
* User administration and access management
Familiarity with:
* Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
* Power BI
* SAP BusinessObjects (Support only, not development)
Additional Skills:
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple DG workstreams simultaneously
* High attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to policies
* Strong communication skills for interfacing with both technical and non-technical teams
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
