Overall Purpose This position is a technical managerial role, reporting to the Sr Director of Analytics Technical Platform; and is responsible for leading and directing the design, development and implementation of the analytics platform cloud infrastructure, including the transition of some workloads from on-prem to the public cloud.
Essential Functions Leadership & Strategy - Leads a team in the architecture and engineering of a particular AWS data platform
- Actively contributes toward the vision, strategy, organization and leadership of the cloud engineering function.
- Defines and enforces cloud engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into cloud infrastructure designs.
- Provides technical expertise, and guidance to ensure the delivery of resilient, scalable, secure and efficient cloud-based solutions.
- Provides effective leadership in developing highly engaged, high-performance Teams.
Cloud Infrastructure - Leads complex and high visibility end to end projects through design, testing, implementation and performance monitoring.
- Collaborates with architects and internal engineering customers to migrate microservices from first party infrastructure to AWS.
- Manages service deployments and has a strong knowledge of CI/CD systems and Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Partners with security, network, and software delivery on continuous improvement of platform.
- Keeps senior management informed of department progress, problems and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and/ or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum eight (8) years or more of progressive direct and/or related experience in Engineering, Architecture, etc; with at least 3 (3) or more years of experience with public cloud infrastructure.
- Proven track record in leading one or more engineering teams, building public cloud infrastructure is required; experience with AWS is highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years on hands-on engineering management experience including Agile development best practices and experience both as a product owner and scrum master.
- Experience with comprehensive technology delivery that is secure and reliable including disaster recovery planning and operations, storage area network and redundant, highly available server and network architectures.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with security practices to protect sensitive data in public cloud environments such as encryption (at rest and in flight), tokenization and key management
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines, version control systems and configuration management, monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to own and manage technical debt and security vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and generate results.
- Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications - Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
- Exposure to data processing tools such as ETL and Data Cataloging
- As a leading financial services company, we operate in a highly regulated environment. Experience actively participating in external audits such as any of OCC, PCI, SOC2, FISMA etc. is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $150,000 - $200,000.
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $180,000 - $240,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
