Summary
Job Title: Lead Network Engineer
Location: Boston, MA, 02116
Work Schedule: Initially 5 days; flexibility for 3 days after 2 months
Purpose and Scope
The Technical Lead\Architect Network oversees the coordination and implementation of data communication systems, ensuring the efficient operation of the network infrastructure. In addition to troubleshooting and overseeing network equipment maintenance, the Lead Network Administrator conducts research on network products and services, develops policies and procedures, and produces documentation of network problems. This role also involves evaluating new networking equipment and providing guidance on network implementation for new construction projects and locations.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Minimum Education
Person must be a CCIE written and practical
Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum Experience and Required Skills
Person must be a CCIE written and practical
The ability to configure networks utilizing multiple routing protocols, including Routing Information Protocol Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Enhanced Gateway Routing Protocol (EGRP), Multiprotocol label switching, L3 VPN, ISIS, and L2 VPN network protocols.
Extensive experience with Cisco product line specifically in a VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) environment.
Six (6) years of experience overseeing the design and implementation of networks.
High level of expertise in installation and configuration with a wide variety of network technologies.
Full understanding of all routing protocols.
Ability to manage various vendors and collaborate across departments.
Ability to serve as lead for projects and escalation point for day-to-day networking tasks to ensure network reliability and serviceability with minimal interruption.
Able to analyze, plan, implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance large complex systems or networks consisting of a combination that may include LANS, WANs, and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone.
Requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives, and in applying concepts, plans and strategies that may deviate from traditional methods and practices.
A valid driver s license.
