Description SAIC is seeking a talented Python Web App Developer to join our analytics team and build innovative web applications that transform complex data into actionable insights. In this role, you'll design and develop scalable, user-friendly web applications that enable our stakeholders to interact with data-driven analytics and reporting tools. Working within our Microsoft Azure and Databricks ecosystem, you'll bridge the gap between data science and end-user experience, creating solutions that empower data-informed decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Python-based web applications for analytics dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into functional web applications
Integrate web applications with Azure services
Connect applications to Databricks for data processing, querying, and real-time analytics
Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces that make complex data accessible to non-technical users
Optimize application performance and ensure scalability to handle large datasets and concurrent users
Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, and data protection in cloud environments
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software development best practices
Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements
Make data accessible for evaluation and optimization
Collaborate with business stakeholders, business operations, and product engineering teams
Coordinate activities with other technical personnel as appropriate.
Qualifications Required Master's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related technical discipline
10 years of experience as a Data Scientist/Engineer/Administrator or similar role
8 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education
Preferred Strong proficiency in Python web frameworks
Experience building interactive analytics applications using Shiny for Python
Experience with Streamlit or similar tools
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience with Databricks
Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Service, Functions, Storage, SQL Database, Key Vault)
Familiarity with Databricks and experience working with Spark DataFrames and Delta Lake
Knowledge of data visualization libraries such as matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly, Dash, or D3.js
Experience with RESTful API design and development
Proficiency with SQL and experience querying large datasets
Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Familiarity with authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, Azure AD)
Experience with data manipulation libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and data analysis workflows
Understanding of software testing principles and frameworks
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience with Microsoft Power BI
Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
Capable of working under pressure, while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work overtime and weekends required on occasion
Experience providing services to the federal government is preferred

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
