Overview:

Mako's direct client is seeking a Solution / Business Architect with deep expertise in the Oracle Energy and Water suite. This role will serve as a bridge between business needs and Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities, with a focus on problem-solving, architecture, and configuration across integrated Oracle modules in a utility environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a business/solution architect, translating operational needs into Oracle ERP configurations.

  • Analyze current system pain points and lead reconfiguration efforts without customizations.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on the Oracle Energy and Water suite's capabilities ("art of the possible" guidance).

  • Understand and assess cross-module impacts (e.g., PPM, AP, GL, Contracts).

  • Participate in CAB meetings, change control, and deployment governance processes.

  • Collaborate with system integrators (Accenture, PwC, Deloitte) on validation and implementation.

  • Stay current on quarterly Oracle Cloud updates and lead adoption of relevant features.

  • Use SQL for data pulls and business problem analysis.

Required Experience:
  • 15+ years of Oracle ERP experience, including recent hands-on Fusion Cloud (SaaS).

  • Direct hands-on expertise with multiple Oracle Energy and Water products:

    • Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CCB / CCS)

    • Oracle Field Service (OFS)

    • Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM / WAX)

    • Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM)

  • Deep experience with utility companies and their operational challenges.

  • Strong configuration-first philosophy (no customizations).

  • Experience in a fully cloud-based Oracle environment.

  • Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and 3rd-party systems like Power Plan or Maximo.

  • Proven collaboration with major SIs (e.g., Accenture) in large-scale programs.

  • Excellent problem-solving and solution validation mindset.
