IA-DOM-DOIT INTS4 Senior level SAN Storage/VM Ware/AD/Windows

The Iowa Department of Management (DOM) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Technical Specialist (INTS4) with deep expertise in SAN Storage administration. This role is critical to maintaining, optimizing, and supporting the department's enterprise infrastructure, including SAN storage platforms, VMware environments, Windows systems, and Active Directory.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on senior technologist capable of working independently, producing high-quality documentation, and supporting mission-critical systems. Candidates must be located in the Des Moines metro area and available to work on-site as required. No relocation is permitted.

• Administer, maintain, and optimize SAN Storage platforms including Pure, IBM, Dell, and NetApp

• Manage SAN connectivity to mainframe environments, ensuring stability and performance

• Support and administer VMware virtualized environments

• Perform Windows Server administration and Active Directory management, including user accounts, group policies, and security

• Execute system patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting with minimal downtime

• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation to support system enhancements and rewrites

• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and stakeholders

• Participate in on-call rotations, including nights and weekends, for maintenance and issue resolution

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure environments, including:

  • SAN Storage administration (Pure, IBM, Dell, NetApp)

  • SAN connectivity to mainframe systems

  • VMware virtualization

  • Windows Server administration

  • Active Directory management

  • Enterprise patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting

• Experience with system management tools, scripting, and utility programs

• Strong attention to detail with proven documentation skills

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to new technologies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Industry certifications such as:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

  • SAN vendor-specific certifications

• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
