Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Overview:
Operating within the industrial manufacturing sector, the Design Engineer will provide critical technical support for the sales and manufacturing of standard and engineered products. Under minimal supervision, you will ensure all designs meet specific customer requirements while strictly adhering to company policies, safety procedures, and certification standards.
Responsibilities:
Design specialized products tailored to meet diverse customer specifications.
Input and maintain technical data within CPQ, ERP, and other internal systems to streamline sales and manufacturing workflows.
Perform stress calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate product integrity.
Ensure the accuracy of procedures, drawings, installation instructions, and product structures.
Develop comprehensive product quotes, including pricing, lead times, and cost analysis.
Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and vendors, investigating tooling availability and providing quotes for specialized manufacturing needs.
Identify and apply efficiencies in engineering processes and participate in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
High mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings.
Proficiency in CAD and PDM systems.
Advanced mathematical skills and knowledge of applicable engineering and certification standards/codes.
Working knowledge of CPQ and ERP systems, along with Microsoft Office and Windows.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day) and stand/walk (up to 2 hours/day).
Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and shoes
Need to make occasional trips from the office area to the manufacturing area.
Demonstrated attention to detail and a strong concern for quality, accuracy, and safety.
Ability to prioritize tasks independently and manage your own time efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to lead others within a team environment and work effectively with peers, management, vendors, and customers.
