Job Description:

The Project Manager Senior will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of technology transition initiatives at the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation (KHRG).
This role is responsible for managing the transition of technology services currently provided by the Commonwealth Office of Technology (COT) to KHRG, including infrastructure, hardware, software, network, security, and user account management.
The successful candidate will develop transition plans, assist the COO in drafting and issuing RFPs for service provision, and provide guidance on staffing and outsourcing strategies to establish long-term technology independence from COT.

Requirement/Must Have:

Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in technology-focused environments.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver successful outcomes.
Strong leadership, critical thinking, and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Experience with planning, RFP development, vendor management, and transition initiatives.

Experience:

Experience managing technology transitions, infrastructure, or enterprise IT services is highly preferred.
Familiarity with municipal, quasi-governmental, or public sector technology operations is a plus.
Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and execution of the technology transition from COT to KHRG.
Assess all technology and services currently provided by COT.
Develop a comprehensive transition plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
Advise and assist the COO in drafting and issuing RFPs to secure independent technology services.
Provide recommendations on long-term service provision, staffing, and outsourcing.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide solutions to ensure objectives are met.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Business, Management, or related field preferred.
PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
