Job Description:
General Trading, located in Carlstadt, NJ, is looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to work onsite 5 days per week (this is not a remote position). This role plays a critical part in managing and maintaining the organization's SQL database environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting database solutions that meet business requirements and support data-driven decision-making. The SQL Administrator will monitor database health, perform regular maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and data loss. Collaboration with development teams, IT staff, and business stakeholders is essential to align database strategies with organizational goals. Ultimately, this role ensures that data assets are reliable, secure, and accessible to authorized users across the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL programming, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers
- Strong knowledge of SQL language, database design, and normalization principles.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques for SQL Server.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis (SSAS).
Responsibilities:
