Job Title: AEM Architect

Location: Wauwatosa, WI
Duration: 12+ Months

Role Summary

The AEM Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-grade Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions that are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. The role requires deep technical expertise in AEM architecture, strong leadership skills, and experience working closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experience platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Implementation

• Design and implement robust AEM architecture solutions aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.

• Define technical architecture, design patterns, and solution frameworks for AEM-based applications.

• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor cross-functional technical teams, including developers, QA, and integration specialists.

• Collaborate with business, UX, product, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive digital experiences.

• Act as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for AEM initiatives.

Requirements & Strategy

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Define technical roadmaps and recommend enhancements for AEM platforms and digital experience strategy.

Integration & Customization

• Oversee integration of AEM with third-party systems, APIs, and enterprise platforms.

• Guide customization and extension of AEM components, workflows, and services as needed.

Performance & Quality

• Implement performance optimization strategies for AEM (caching, load balancing, content delivery, etc.).

• Ensure adherence to coding standards, architecture guidelines, and quality assurance processes.

• Define and support testing strategies, including unit, integration, and performance testing.

Documentation

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including:

  • Architecture diagrams

  • Design specifications

  • Integration workflows

  • Operational runbooks

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AEM Architect or Lead AEM Engineer.

• Deep understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and related Adobe solutions (e.g., Adobe Target, Analytics, Assets, Sites).

• Hands-on experience implementing AEM in enterprise environments.

• Strong expertise in:

  • AEM architecture and design patterns

  • Component development and templates

  • Content management best practices

• Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering large-scale AEM projects.

• Strong leadership and team mentoring capabilities.

• Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Adobe Cloud Manager).

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps for AEM.

• Knowledge of web performance optimization, SEO, and accessibility standards.

• Experience integrating AEM with marketing technology stacks and digital experience platforms.
