Your Opportunity

Learning begins in the classroom but there's no better place to gain real-world experience than with Stantec. Interns are an integral part of our teams, working to solve some of the world's most complex challenges.

As an Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to transportation projects which may include highway and bridges and infrastructure, traffic planning and analysis, and development. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken civil engineering, structural or transportation related courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support a number of exciting local and national projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers in the preparation of contract documents and reports for a variety of civil and structural engineering projects
  • Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy in AutoCAD, MicroStation, structural design software, word processing, Excel, and other standard office software is an asset

Education and Experience
  • Candidates must be enrolled in at least their junior year toward earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or structural engineering or related field
  • You will work in an open-concept office setting. Local travel may be required for attending client or public meetings, scoping new assignments, and visiting project sites.

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
