Position: RF Engineer
Location: Littleton, CO
About the Role
As an RF Engineer, you will lead payload analysis activities and execute test cases related to payload initialization for assigned satellite payloads. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and subject matter experts to assess technical risks and opportunities, contribute to system-level studies, and support the successful delivery of payload products across key milestones. This role also involves working directly with customers to ensure mission objectives and performance expectations are met.
Responsibilities
Lead payload analysis efforts for RF payloads and subsystems
Develop and execute test cases for payload initialization and validation
Define, analyze, and allocate technical requirements across satellite subsystems and components
Identify, manage, and mitigate payload-level technical risks while driving opportunities and trade studies
Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and test engineering teams to ensure end-to-end payload performance
Support customer interactions, technical reviews, and milestone deliverables
Contribute to major program reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)
Experience developing and analyzing technical requirements for complex systems
Ability to understand and allocate functions to satellite subsystems or components
Experience with MATLAB or other programming/scripting languages for analysis and modeling
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, collaborative environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences
Experience defining end-to-end performance and functionality of RF payloads or subsystems, aligned with mission needs and CONOPS
Experience developing specifications and interface definitions for digitally processed RF payloads
Hands-on experience defining external interfaces for antennas, RF components (active and passive), receivers, transmitters, and digital processors
Experience certifying and delivering RF payloads or subsystems to customers
Proven experience supporting and executing major technical design reviews
Experience applying data analysis techniques, including AI/ML-based approaches
Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, or automation
