Wellhart is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position at a Trauma hospital in Pennsylvania. This 42-day assignment begins on 01/02/2026, covering 24-hour call and rounding responsibilities. The schedule is structured in blocks, starting Fridays at 5 pm and ending the following Friday at 5 pm or 8 am. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing EGD, colonoscopies, and if possible, EUS and ERCP. Typical days involve morning rounds with a PA, followed by 4-6 outpatient procedures, usually screening colonoscopies. This role requires an active Pennsylvania medical license and proficiency with Epic EHR. There is potential for assignment extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: Provide 24-hour call coverage and perform daily rounds
Conduct morning patient reviews with PA
Perform outpatient procedures, primarily EGD and colonoscopies
Conduct EUS and ERCP procedures if qualified
Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation
Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in gastroenterology
Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and staff
Participate in any required training or orientation sessions
Additional Information: Active Pennsylvania medical license required
Experience with Trauma care preferred
Comfort with high-volume endoscopy procedures
