What will your day look like?
As a Software Development Specialist, you will:
Support the design, development, testing, and implementation of software solutions
Work on smaller projects or less complex development tasks while building technical experience
Perform coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and research activities
Analyze and evaluate data to support software development solutions
Contribute to improving software development processes and procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing development initiatives
Participate in an on-call rotation after an initial onboarding and training period
You will be a good fit for the Software Development Specialist role if you have:
Strong IT fundamentals, including Windows support, basic networking, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office (SAP experience preferred)
Strong math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and basic data interpretation
Nice-to-Haves:
Customer service experience
Exposure to Generative AI tools or concepts
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Familiarity with collaboration and agile team environments
Interest in DevOps or modern software development practices
Additional Information:
This role includes participation in an on-call rotation. New team members are given several months before joining the rotation, and with a full team rotation, on-call shifts occur infrequently.
The role requires extensive sitting and frequent phone and computer use.
