Job Description:

The Sr. SDET Backend Tester is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting large-scale enterprise software systems.
This role involves backend-focused testing, automation, software analysis, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable applications.

Responsibilities:

Perform technical design, coding, and testing of applications while adhering to development and DevOps standards.
Serve as a subject matter expert for customer-facing and internal technical discussions.
Analyze and develop interface design documentation and comply with system standards and procedures.
Deliver large-scale systems supporting tens of thousands of users.
Perform software analysis including requirements, use case development, and solution design.
Implement and document source code aligned with design specifications.
Develop, execute, and maintain automated unit tests and structured automated test cases.
Compile, analyze, and report results from software testing and analysis.
Design, implement, and test software solutions for enterprise environments.
Analyze and implement functional and non-functional requirements including performance and availability.
Perform operations and maintenance activities for existing systems.
Identify improvement opportunities and streamline systems and processes.
Assist in estimating development efforts for application features.
Provide technical support for high-visibility and critical production issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build highly reliable, scalable software.
Recommend and evaluate new and emerging technologies.
Extend and customize open-source libraries as needed.
Contribute to product scoping, roadmap planning, and architecture discussions.
Mentor junior software engineers and support team skill development.

Requirement/Must Have:

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Five years of experience in software development, coding, compilation, and software architecture.
Strong experience in backend testing and automation.
Advanced understanding of the software development life cycle.
Experience integrating complex or existing systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, C, Python, or similar.
Strong experience with database technologies including SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and cloud databases.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, continuous testing, and deployment practices.
Experience with test-first methodologies including TDD and BDD.
Strong understanding of code quality, promotion practices, and DevOps standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

Five years of experience in enterprise software development, testing, and automation.
Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Skills:

Backend testing and automation.
Software design and architecture.
CI/CD tools and frameworks.
Cloud platforms and database technologies.
Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Technical mentoring and collaboration.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent additional professional experience.
