What We're Looking For:
If you are experienced in network installation, integration, and maintenance within ground and space-based communication systems and have a background working with Telcordia standards, then you will be excited about the Senior Site Engineer opening with Iridium supporting a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Senior Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying and autonomously implementing ideas and solutions in support of maintaining and enhancing Iridium's global network infrastructure. In this role, you will focus primarily on overseeing vendors and contractors to ensure adherence to installation standards, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the maintenance of network and radiofrequency (RF) equipment at sites around the world. You will thrive in this role if you are a highly motivated self-starter who excels in fast-paced environments and demonstrates strong problem-solving and vendor management skills.
This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

What You'll Do:
- Lead the installation and oversight of vendors and contractors deploying computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and other data communications systems, while ensuring adherence to high installation standards
- Oversee vendors and contractors responsible for installing antennas, satellite equipment, and RF systems, ensuring all work meets technical and safety requirements
- Conduct testing of completed installations to ensure equipment functions as intended and meets performance expectations
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues across electrical, optical, and network installations, using tools ranging from multimeters to signal analyzers to identify and resolve root causes
- Implement routine preventative measures and perform site maintenance on facility equipment and antenna systems to maintain operational readiness
- Support internal and external teams to complete site-related tasks and assist with testing of all site elements to ensure seamless integration and functionality
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the network communication industry
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
- Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
We'll also need you to:
- Be able to travel up to 50%
- When not traveling, be able to work in the office at least 3 or more days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for multiple hours, and climb short ladders
- This position directly performs under, supports, or is exposed to a U.S. government contract.
