Summary
Requirement for a remote Network Engineer role, focusing on network deployment and scaling. The role will focus on completing deployments per NRB project schedule, completing artifacts, rack decom tickets, and server adds tickets, validating automation scripts, knowledge transfer sessions, and runbooks and documentation for new builds and scaling events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- 24x7 follow the sun model to support OCI s Regional Network Deployment and Scaling (RNDS) organization
- Deploying greenfield network infrastructure and enabling connectivity for new OCI regions and child sites
- Supporting brownfield scaling including CFAB rack adds, compute expansions, server rack adds, and decommissions
- Building and managing data center fabrics, edge, backbone, and metro fiber networks
- Executing region builds, DRCC/Alloy expansions, multi-cloud integrations, and Butterfly turn-ups
- Operating in a CI/CD pipeline environment using GitHub and OCI s internal tools for automated deployments
- Developing scripts and automation (Python preferred) to reduce manual deployment effort
- Leveraging networking expertise across BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, VPN, SSL, and working with Arista, Cisco and other network hardware
- Execution of Jira ticket assignments that relate to Network infrastructure RNS projects
- Weekend support is required, and on-call support may also be required as necessary
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):
- 12+ years of Network Engineering experience
- 5+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience needed
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills, process implementation skills
- Should have ability to understand complex user issues, research answers, and provide working, hands-on knowledge and support to users
- Strong planning and project management ability
