Description Overview The Technical Engineering Training Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for both internal and external customers across a full product ecosystem (including instruments, reagents, and digital tools). The role ensures users gain a high level of understanding regarding functionality, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide training to new hire field service and technical support engineers on all system types, covering installation through decommission. Training may be conducted in-person, remotely, or through virtual/live-streamed sessions.
- Provide training to customer biomedical/biomechanical technicians as requested, focusing on preventive maintenance and basic service operations. Training may be in-person, remote, or virtual/live-streamed.
- Deliver lectures and hands-on demonstrations covering safety, installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation. Follow defined course outlines, distribute materials, administer tests, and demonstrate relevant procedures.
- Administer written and practical examinations and document performance outcomes for internal reporting.
- Maintain training equipment in optimal working condition, ensuring instruments, components, and instructional materials are current and functional.
- Observe trainees during instruction, provide support, and answer questions.
- Review and update training content as needed to ensure continuous improvement, retiring outdated documentation and developing new materials when appropriate.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and industry training to maintain professional knowledge and integrate new information into instruction.
- Ensure that all classes have access to functioning equipment, necessary consumables, and printed materials prior to instruction.
Requirements Education & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
- 2-4 years' experience with relevant systems, technical training, field service, or related industry experience preferred.
- Experience with database software and Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent business software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, regulatory documents, and general business materials.
- Strong written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.
- Confident presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from diverse audiences.
- Proficient typing/keyboard skills.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed (up to ~10%).
