Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• 6+ years of experience with EDI, API, or B2B connectivity platforms.
• Deep knowledge of X12 standards (850, 855, 856, 810, etc.) and trading partner management.
• Hands on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of integration formats: EDI, XML, JSON, HL7, cXML, flat files.
Key Responsibilities
1. EDI Architecture & Integration Modernization
• Architect next generation EDI onboarding workflows leveraging automation, analytics, and AI.
• Design scalable interfaces across EDI, API, and flat file channels.
• Identify mapping patterns across thousands of trading partners to drive standardization.
2. AI Driven Automation & Tooling
• Develop AI assisted mapping templates and integration specifications.
• Implement conversational AI tools to reduce manual onboarding interactions.
• Automate documentation, partner profile creation, and configuration workflows.
• Apply predictive analytics to identify transaction anomalies and remediation paths.
3. Connectivity Platform Leadership
• Leverage the successful API platform transformation as a blueprint for EDI modernization.
• Drive adoption of a multi tenant, self service portal for trading partners.
• Promote proactive monitoring, intelligent alerting, and low touch operations.
4. Cross Functional & Customer Engagement
• Partner closely with Sales, Product, Professional Services, and Customer Experience teams.
• Engage directly with large healthcare customers and their IT teams to ensure seamless onboarding.
• Provide consultative guidance, technical leadership, and solution architecture expertise.
5. Governance, Operations & Vendor Oversight
• Define onboarding standards, templates, repeatable processes, and trading partner governance.
• Ensure high quality production operations through AMS aligned workflows.
• Provide leadership and direction to onshore/offshore vendor teams, ensuring accountability, speed, and communication excellence.
6. Strategic Impact
• Reduce onboarding cycle times from months to predictable, compressed timelines.
• Eliminate revenue leakage caused by integration delays.
• Improve trading partner experience and executive confidence.
• Position EDI as a scalable, automated, high reliability capability.
Role Summary
The Client is undergoing a major transformation of its connectivity ecosystem, which includes EDI, APIs, and flat file integrations. Connectivity is a critical revenue engine for the organization, enabling nearly half of overall transaction volume.
Reporting directly into the Senior Director of Connectivity, the Sr. Connectivity IT Architect will lead the modernization of EDI onboarding and integration capabilities. This role focuses on transforming manual, vendor dependent integration processes into a standardized, automated, AI driven, self service onboarding model.
The Architect will play a hands on, strategic role in reducing onboarding timelines, improving partner experience, and enabling accelerated revenue capture across large, high value healthcare customers.
This is a high visibility role with executive exposure, clear business outcomes, and rapid delivery expectations within the first 6–8 months.
