Role: Senior Lead Engineer AWS (Open Shift & Cloud-Native Solutions)

Lead Engineer AWS to drive architectural excellence, mentor engineering teams, and lead the design and delivery of cloud-native solutions using OpenShift, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
Role Overview: You will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling secure, high-performance cloud platforms on AWS. You will lead the adoption of modern DevOps practices, drive automation, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has a passion for innovation, scalability, and team enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the implementation of cloud-native applications on AWS using OpenShift (Red Hat), Kubernetes (EKS/ECS/Fargate), and serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway).
- Design and manage multi-account AWS environments with centralized governance, security, and cost optimization using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and Service Catalog.
- Lead the development and automation of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and GitOps practices.
- Champion infrastructure-as-code (IaC), security-by-design, and compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001/27701) across all cloud deployments.
- Drive the adoption of event-driven architectures using Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, EventBridge, and real-time data processing with Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and Lambda.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Security, Operations) to deliver end-to-end solutions across domains like FinTech, EduTech, and Property Analytics.
- Mentor and upskill engineers in cloud best practices, observability (CloudWatch, X-Ray), and performance optimization.
- Act as a technical point of escalation for production incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and post-mortem learning.
- Participate in solutioning, RFP responses, and client-facing technical discussions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with 5+ years focused on AWS and 3+ years in leadership/mentoring roles.
- Proven experience with OpenShift (Red Hat), Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate), and container orchestration.
- Expertise in AWS core services: S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
- Strong proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Buildkite.
- Deep understanding of microservices, service mesh (Istio), API gateways (3Scale, API Gateway), and observability.
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines: AWS Glue, Athena, DMS, Delta Lake, Apache Hudi.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (GDPR, ISO 27001/27701).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments with JIRA and Bitbucket
