The Team The Global Network Services Team is an integral part of the Infrastructure Services function within the Corporate IT organization. The team designs, builds, deploys, and operates all aspects of IT networking, network security, and telephony services across approximately 80 locations globally.
This is a small (approximately 16 staff) but high-performing global team split between London and Houston, operating on a 24x7 basis to deliver stable, secure, and scalable services in alignment with ITIL and industry best practices. The team delivers global architectures and standards through a regional delivery model and works flexibly with a hybrid office and remote approach.
Role Overview The Network Manager - AMER is accountable for delivering network services and outcomes across the Americas region. This role translates global network strategy and architecture into effective regional execution, ensuring services meet performance, risk, and cost expectations.
This is a management-focused role with limited hands-on technical responsibility. You will lead a regional team of network engineers responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of network systems including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.
The role is hybrid, based out of the Corporate Headquarters in Houston, TX, with work-from-home flexibility. You will continuously seek opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency, with a strong focus on automation and service excellence.
Key Accountabilities - Regional network service performance and outcomes
- Regional service stability and customer satisfaction
- Regional vendor relationships and escalation management
- Execution of global strategy within regional business and regulatory constraints
- Provision of regional network leadership
- Senior regional escalation point for network services
- Representation of regional requirements in global strategy and architecture discussions
Key Responsibilities - Manage regional network vendors and service providers.
- Oversee regional risk, compliance, and audit outcomes.
- Develop and execute regional delivery plans aligned with global roadmaps.
- Ensure adherence to global network architecture and standards.
- Balance business-as-usual operations with project and transformation initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting on service performance and key initiatives.
- Manage resource capacity and utilization.
- Line manage Principal, Senior, and Network Engineers within the region.
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and development planning for direct reports.
- Act as a delegate for the Director, Global Head of Network Services as required.
Role Scope - Not Directly Responsible For - Defining global network architecture or standards
- Owning detailed technical design decisions
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Cisco CCNP certification required; CCIE strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Network+ certification.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification or higher.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification desirable.
Skills & Experience - 15+ years of internetworking experience within a global enterprise environment (3,000+ users).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Network Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Strong background supporting IT services in pressurized environments, preferably in Financial Services or Insurance.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (IOS, ASR, ISR, NXOS).
- Expertise in routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
- Strong understanding of connectivity services including DIA, broadband, LEO, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
- Wireless networking, load balancing, and network access control (NAC).
- Deep knowledge of network security including firewalls, web filtering, and Zero Trust models.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills in a federated, global environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across teams.
