Job Description
As a CPQ Architect, you will be the strategic and technical authority for Oracle Cloud CPQ across enterprise-scale quote-to-cash transformations. You will lead the architecture, design, and governance of end-to-end CPQ solutions integrated with ERP, CRM, Subscription Management, and Billing platforms.
Operating at the Architect (Director) level means you are an expert individual contributor -driving innovation, defining standards, mentoring teams, and partnering directly with business and technology executives. You'll play a key role in shaping the CPQ roadmap, ensuring scalability, performance, and best-in-class solution design across multiple global implementations.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the enterprise CPQ solution architect guiding the overall design, architecture, and roadmap across business units and regions.
- Define the CPQ strategy, standards, and governance model, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and quote-to-cash vision.
- Partner with senior stakeholders (Sales Ops, IT, Finance, Product, and Enterprise Architecture) to define scalable, maintainable solutions supporting long-term business growth.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging CPQ capabilities, new Oracle Cloud releases, and integration patterns.
Solution Architecture & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end solution design for complex quoting, pricing, and configuration processes.
- Architect integrations between CPQ and CRM (Sales Cloud, SFDC), ERP (Oracle Cloud ERP, EBS), Subscription Management, and other systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware tools.
- Guide technical teams in building BML scripts, pricing models, approval workflows, and constraint rules that meet enterprise performance and maintainability goals.
- Ensure alignment with quote-to-cash business flows including subscription, renewals, amendments, and billing synchronization.
- Design for scale, resiliency, and compliance - addressing high volume, multi-currency, and multi-organization scenarios.
Governance & Standards
- Own the CPQ solution blueprint, data model, and integration architecture.
- Establish and enforce solution review and release management standards across CPQ environments.
- Drive governance forums for change control, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, SOX, and audit requirements.
Thought Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor CPQ leads and consultants across multiple project teams.
- Drive architectural consistency and reusable design patterns.
- Collaborate with Oracle Product Management to influence roadmap and feature adoption.
- Conduct internal training and capability building for CPQ and quote-to-cash solutions.
Qualifications
- 10-14 years of total experience, with 7+ years in Oracle CPQ (BigMachines) including full lifecycle implementations at enterprise scale.
- Proven experience as a CPQ Solution Architect, Principal Consultant, or Technical Lead on multi-region or multi-LOB implementations.
- Deep understanding of CPQ configuration, commerce, document generation, workflows, BML scripting, and integration frameworks.
- Expertise in quote-to-cash architecture covering CPQ, CRM, Subscription Management, and ERP integration.
- Strong experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP APIs, web services, JSON/XML, and data orchestration.
- Experience defining data models, master data flows, and product/price synchronization across systems.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise performance tuning, scalability optimization, and system security design.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills-comfortable engaging at VP and Director levels.
- Proven ability to influence without authority and drive solution alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred / "Nice to Have" Skills
- Experience in Subscription / SaaS business models and integration with Oracle Subscription Management.
- Exposure to Sales Cloud, Fusion ERP, and Revenue Management Cloud Service (RMCS).
- Familiarity with pricing optimization, channel/partner quoting, and renewals automation.
- Oracle CPQ Certification or equivalent recognized credential.
- Prior experience working in large-scale digital transformation programs within manufacturing, high-tech, or telecom industries.
- Understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices for CPQ.
