Role Overview
The Interim Director, Workday Applications Consultant will lead a large-scale, enterprise-wide Workday ?big bang? implementation across a hospital system, followed by post?go-live production support. This role owns the end-to-end Workday ecosystem, including HCM, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll, and Security, ensuring a stable, scalable, and high-quality ERP environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep Workday expertise, hospital IT experience, strong vendor management, and the ability to drive change across complex healthcare organizations.
Requirements
Lead and oversee the Workday application team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management.
Serve as Product Owner for Workday, defining priorities, managing the backlog, and ensuring timely delivery of enhancements.
Drive a successful enterprise-wide Workday implementation, including governance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment.
Manage Workday implementation partners and vendors, ensuring high-quality delivery and support.
Oversee testing strategies, cyclical releases, system updates, and adherence to testing standards.
Manage Production and Non-Production environments, including incidents, updates, migrations, security, and data refreshes.
Lead change management efforts, ensuring user adoption and cultural transformation.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization across Workday modules.
Develop, track, and report KPIs aligned with business and operational goals.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and ERP best practices.
Collaborate with senior business and IT leaders to align Workday strategy with enterprise objectives.
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor?s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience leading Workday or large-scale ERP systems.
Strong experience with hospital or healthcare IT environments.
Proven success leading enterprise ERP transformations and big-bang deployments.
Expertise in HCM, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll, and Workday Security.
Strong change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with quality assurance, governance, and testing methodologies.
Ability to translate business needs into effective ERP solutions
