Job Title: SAP MM with MDG Consultant

Location: Houston, TX 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Consultant with MDG exposure to support Materials Management and Master Data Governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on SAP MM configuration experience and working knowledge of SAP MDG, particularly in material master data governance, data migration, and mass data processing. This is a fully onsite role in Houston, TX.

Note: Candidates with SAP MM certification and basic to intermediate SAP MDG experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP MM modules including:

  • Plants and Storage Locations

  • Procurement (Purchase Orders, Stock Transport Orders)

  • Inventory Management

  • Logistics and Valuation

• Manage and support Material Master data, ensuring accuracy across all views and understanding business impacts of master data changes.

• Participate in project cutover, go-live, and hyper-care support activities.

• Lead and execute data extraction, cleansing, mapping, migration, reconciliation, and mass data loads.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to support procurement and logistics operations.

• Configure and troubleshoot Material Planning, MRP procedures, and cycle counting.

• Work with IDOC/EDI integration, primarily:

  • MATMAS

  • CLFMAS

  • Mapping and troubleshooting data issues

• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot background batch jobs.

• Create functional and technical specifications for enhancements, reports, interfaces, and conversions.

• Collaborate closely with ABAP and BI teams to support MM and MDG-related development.

SAP MDG Responsibilities

• Support and configure SAP MDG approval workflows, business rules, validations, and derivations.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • MDG User Interface customization

  • MDG Business Context Viewer

  • MDG Master Data Consolidation

  • Mass data uploads and data cleansing

• Work with Fiori applications related to Master Data Governance.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM configuration and support

• Solid background in Inventory Management (stock movements, valuations, reconciliations)

• Experience with end-to-end SAP project implementations as a primary MM functional resource

• Proven experience supporting multiple ETL and reporting projects

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Experience

• Experience preparing user training documentation and conducting training sessions

• Strong understanding of procurement and logistics business processes

• Exposure to SAP SCM is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP MM Certification

• Prior experience in SAP MDG implementations

• Experience in regulated or high-volume data environments
