Role: Data Scientist, Generative AI + Google Cloud Platform Stack (L5 Level)

About the role:
A highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist specializing in Generative AI and the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) stack at the L5 level is sought. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying innovative generative AI solutions for clients, utilizing Google Cloud Platform services. This is a remote, full-time position that requires travel to client sites as needed to ensure project delivery and foster client relationships.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of generative AI models and solutions, including LLMs, diffusion models, GANs, and VAEs.
Architect and build data processing pipelines within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI) to support model training and deployment.
Develop prompt engineering strategies and fine-tuning techniques for LLMs.
Collaborate with clients, product managers, and engineering teams to define requirements and translate them into solutions.
Conduct model validation and evaluation.
Containerize and deploy generative AI workloads using Docker and Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform.
Research and apply cutting-edge generative AI advancements.
Communicate complex technical concepts and project progress to stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with trends in generative AI, Google Cloud Platform, and data science.
Mentor junior data scientists on best practices.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in a quantitative field is required (Ph.D. preferred).
Experience in data science, with a focus on generative AI, and leading technical development and mentoring is a preference. Expert proficiency in Python, including libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Transformers, and LangChain is necessary. Candidates should have extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying GenAI projects, along with a deep understanding of LLMs, RAG, and chatbot architectures. Experience with MLOps practices and building AI pipelines is also needed. Proven experience with vector stores and search technologies is required. Experience with LLM-backed agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) is valued. Strong expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and statistical experimentation is expected. Strong understanding and experience with the Google Cloud Platform platform, including relevant services, is essential. Experience building and managing large-scale data processing pipelines is a requirement. A strong understanding of ethical AI principles, bias detection, and hallucination reduction is important. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for collaboration with clients, product managers, and engineering teams. The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Willingness to travel as required by client demand is necessary.
