- We partner with government sponsors to solve their most urgent data challenges while also identifying and addressing the root causes behind their most complex data problems.
- Our work spans data architecture, data engineering, data platform modernization, artificial intelligence, and enterprise data management-enabling secure, scalable, and future-ready data environments that drive mission impact.
Job Responsibilities
- Support integration of data from multiple sources and systems to strengthen interoperability and improve mission effectiveness.
- Assist with building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, orchestration workflows, and engineering solutions.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts for AI use cases such as NLP, classification, prediction, and computer vision.
- Apply modern data engineering and security practices to ensure high-quality, reliable, and resilient data foundations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and mission teams to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions.
Basic Qualification
- Sustained excellence in academic performance.
- Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline) and will remain enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
- Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn and apply emerging technologies to real-world problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in public service and advancing mission-focused outcomes.
- Strong foundation in Python and SQL and familiarity with modern data processing tools or frameworks (e.g., Pandas, Spark, Databricks, Airflow).
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and exposure to ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts for AI use cases such as NLP, classification, prediction, and computer vision.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), DevOps tools (Git, Docker), or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly) is helpful.
- Awareness of evolving computing trends and secure data practices, including preparation for future advanced compute environments, is a plus.
Clearance: In addition to passing MITRE's employment background check, you will be submitted for a U.S. Government Security clearance. This is determined by the Department of Defense's adjudicative guidelines for receiving a clearance, to include U.S. citizenship.
