Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced POS Tester to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating the functionality, performance, and reliability of Point-of-Sale systems across various retail environments. This role involves working closely with development, business analysts, and support teams to ensure seamless integration and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute test cases for POS applications (hardware and software).
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Validate transactions including sales, returns, discounts, promotions, and payment processing (cash, card, mobile).
Test POS connectivity with backend systems such as inventory, pricing, and loyalty programs.
Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Service Now or QTest.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
Support UAT and SIT phases by coordinating with business users and stakeholders.
Participate in test planning, estimation, and status reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 4 years in POS testing.
Strong understanding of retail operations and POS workflows.
Experience with POS systems such as Oracle Retail, NCR, Verifone, or similar.
Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools and processes.
Experience defining the testing strategy and objectives.
Strong in Test execution and defect management.
Overseeing the execution of test cases: Ensuring that testing is conducted thoroughly and according to the test plan.
Tracking and managing defects throughout their lifecycle: From identification and reporting to tracking their resolution, ensuring defects are addressed in a timely manner.
Analyzing test results and generating comprehensive reports: Providing clear and concise reports on the testing process, including test coverage and defect resolution status.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automation tools and scripting for POS testing.
Exposure to mobile POS and self-checkout systems.
