About the Role
We are hiring on behalf of a leading North American distributor known for its robust logistics infrastructure and commitment to operational excellence. This role is ideal for a seasoned database expert who thrives in high-performance environments and is passionate about optimizing NoSQL systems.
As the Lead NoSQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing and managing complex database architectures, with a focus on Apache Cassandra and DataStax platforms. You’ll work closely with a highly technical team to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical systems. This position also includes mentoring junior DBAs and contributing to the strategic roadmap for NoSQL technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable NoSQL database solutions, including tables, indexes, and ETL processes.
- Lead the design and evolution of the DataStax platform architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and administer complex database systems.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on mentorship to database administrators.
- Ensure high availability and performance of NoSQL environments through proactive monitoring and automation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in NoSQL database architectures and topologies.
- Strong experience with Apache Cassandra and/or DataStax.
- Ability to design and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant NoSQL solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience in leading database teams or projects.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and automation tools.
- Advanced knowledge of performance tuning and capacity planning for NoSQL systems.
