As a Category Manager - IT Strategic Sourcing within our IT Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Procurement team, you'll play a critical role in driving cost optimization, supplier innovation, and strategic partnerships across CVS Health's technology infrastructure. This is an opportunity to influence decisions that impact millions of customers and employees while managing high-value sourcing initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage complex, high-impact sourcing events for IT infrastructure categories, including:
    • Data Center & Network Services
    • Servers, Laptops & PCs
    • Telephony & Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS)
  • Develop category strategies and pipelines in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier relationships to deliver cost savings and value.
  • Analyze market trends and vendor proposals to inform award decisions.
  • Present strategic recommendations to procurement and business leaders.
  • Mentor and guide sourcing analysts to ensure successful execution of RFx events.

  • You'll manage sourcing within a $4B annual indirect spend portfolio, supporting critical business units like Retail, PBM, Insurance, and Specialty/Clinical.
  • Your work will directly impact CVS Health's ability to deliver innovative, cost-effective technology solutions across the enterprise.
  • You'll collaborate with senior leaders and gain exposure to enterprise-level decision-making.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields.
  • 15% travel
  • In office 2X a week in either Hartford-CT, Cumberland-RI, or Buffalo Grove-IL

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Vendor management and consolidation experience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong negotiation skills, analytical ability, and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with e-sourcing platforms (Ariba preferred) is a plus.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
