ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Scientist for a 36+ month contract position with a Biotechnology company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 100% onsite position. Summary: We are currently seeking a research associate for the Drug Product Technologies group. A fundamental understanding of protein chemistry, formulation, and biophysical characterization is desired. The successful candidate will perform experiments related to the development of formulations for therapeutic proteins, including stability testing and analytical characterization. The candidate will join a team of investigators using a variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques and will be involved in the design and execution of experiments.
Responsibilities: - Perform experiments related to the development of formulations for therapeutic proteins, including stability testing and analytical characterization.
- Utilize a variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques and be involved in the design and execution of experiments.
- Maintain detailed record keeping in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Handle data collection, analysis, interpretation of experimental data, and presentation of findings.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutics, biochemistry, chemistry, biology or a related life sciences discipline with 2 years of experience OR Master's degree.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a lab setting (industry or academia).
- Experience with pipetting, sample prep & handling, HPLC chromatography, and protein sample analysis.
- A strong understanding of protein biochemistry and protein structure.
- Significant experience with basic laboratory skills and biophysical techniques related to protein analysis.
- A background in protein solution manipulation (e.g., pipetting, dialysis, concentration).
- Must be able to work 100% onsite in Thousand Oaks, CA.
- Motivated, with good problem-solving skills, and an aptitude to learn and implement new techniques/skills.
- Well-organized, proficient in detailed record-keeping, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Capable of working efficiently in teams and independently.

Desired skills: - MS (or equivalent) in pharmaceutics, biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
- Experience with visible and sub-visible particle analysis.
- Experience with other analytical methods (e.g., capillary electrophoresis, SEC, CEX, etc.).
Pay rate: is up to $33.43/hr.
