Kforce has a client that is seeking a Maximo MAS9 Platform Architect in Armonk, NY.
Summary:
We are seeking a senior Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Platform Architect to lead the modernization of a legacy Maximo 7.x environment to MAS 9 within a highly regulated utility setting. This requires deep architectural expertise across application, platform, and enterprise operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience transforming legacy Maximo implementations into containerized MAS platforms and can guide complex organizations through modernization decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maximo & MAS Architecture:
* Lead end-to-end Maximo 7.x MAS 9 transformation initiatives
Design target-state MAS architectures with focus on:
* MAS Manage
* Feature parity, licensing, and entitlement considerations
* Rationalization of legacy customizations and deprecated features
Oversee:
* Data migration strategies
* Configuration carryover
* Regression testing and validation
Platform & Infrastructure Architecture:
Architect and support MAS deployments on Red Hat OpenShift, including:
* Operator-based installations
* Cluster and namespace design
* Scaling, resiliency, and upgrade strategies
Apply strong Kubernetes fundamentals:
* Pods, services, ingress, scaling
* Helm charts and platform operators
Support deployments across:
* AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments
Design for:
* Network segmentation
* Load balancing
* High availability and disaster recovery
Database & Integration:
Provide architectural guidance for:
* DB2 and Oracle environments
* Schema upgrades and post-migration performance tuning
Support integrations with:
* ESB platforms
* REST APIs
* Utility systems (GIS, Work Management, Asset Health, outage systems)
Stakeholder Leadership:
* Act as a senior technical advisor to delivery teams and client stakeholders
* Lead architecture discussions and modernization decision-making
REQUIREMENTS:
* Maximo 7.5/7.6
* Maximo Application Suite (MAS 8/9)
* Proven experience executing Maximo 7.x MAS upgrades
* Red Hat OpenShift
* Kubernetes
* Linux (RHEL)
* DB2 and/or Oracle
* Installation and upgrade tooling
* Automation tools (Ansible or similar)
Strong Plus:
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
* CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
* Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Instana)
* Utility system integrations (GIS, SCADA, outage management)
Preferred experience in:
* Utilities (electric, gas, water)
* Asset-intensive industries such as energy, transportation, or public infrastructure
Understanding of:
* Field work management
* Asset lifecycle management
* Regulatory pressure and high-availability operating environments
The right candidate is:
* A platform architect, not a traditional Maximo administrator
* Comfortable modernizing legacy enterprise systems
* Fluent in MAS and OpenShift architecture
* Experienced in regulated, enterprise-scale environments
* Capable of guiding organizations through decisions that reduce technical debt and improve long-term platform sustainability
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
