Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Provisioning, scaling, and managing database instances.
- Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Analyzing database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing queries for improved efficiency.
- Security and Compliance: Implementing and maintaining database security measures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Backup and Recovery: Managing database backups, implementing recovery procedures, and testing disaster recovery plans.
- Data Migration: Migrating data from existing databases to AWS and optimizing the migration process.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving database-related issues, including performance problems and security vulnerabilities.
- Database Design and Development: Designing and developing new database schemas and procedures.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Setting up monitoring systems to track database performance and receive alerts for critical issues.
- Performance Insights: Leveraging Amazon RDS Performance Insights to monitor database performance.
- Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of AWS services like S3, EC2, and other related tools.
- Required Skills and Experience:
- Database Administration Experience:
- Proven experience managing relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- AWS RDS Expertise:
- Familiarity with AWS RDS, including its features, functionalities, and best practices.
- SQL Proficiency:
- Strong SQL skills for query writing, optimization, and database manipulation.
- Scripting Languages:
- Experience with scripting languages like Terraform, AWS Lambda, Python or Shell for automating tasks.
- Database Performance Tuning:
- Knowledge of database performance tuning techniques and tools.
- Security and Compliance Knowledge:
- Understanding of database security best practices and compliance standards.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate with other teams.
