Role: Jira Platform Engineer
Location: Washington, DC- Onsite
Job Summary:
Deploy and integrate Jira SaaS in Atlassian Gov Cloud (AGC) with client systems.
Role:
The Jira Platform Engineer will manage, configure, and integrate Jira SaaS, replacing Azure DevOps and GitLab, and enabling Agile practices across the organization. This role requires both technical expertise and strategic understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, and enterprise integrations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years IT experience, including legacy migration support
Experience with Agile at scale, dashboards, and security-based role permissions
Key Responsibilities:
1) Jira Administration & Engineering:
Administer and optimize Jira SaaS
Design custom workflows, fields, screens, and automation rules
Manage users, roles, and security schemes
Monitor license usage and collaborate on procurement
2) System Integration & Development:
Integrate Jira with GitLab, ServiceNow, Okta, and other systems using APIs, webhooks, and scripts
Automate data sync and ensure traceability
Troubleshoot and optimize integrations for performance and security
Maintain technical documentation and best practices
3) Agile Enablement:
Support Agile practices via Jira configuration
Guide Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on tool usage
Provide reporting and analytics for Agile metrics
Assist teams transitioning from Azure DevOps, GitLab, or hosted Jira to Jira SaaS
Skills & Experience:
3+ years Jira administration/engineering experience
Enterprise integration experience (GitLab, ServiceNow)
Scripting and REST API proficiency
Strong Agile and DevSecOps knowledge
Experience with enterprise migrations to Jira
Preferred:
Atlassian ecosystem experience (Confluence, Bitbucket, apps)
DevSecOps/Platform Engineering background
Federal standards knowledge (FISMA, SOX, FedRAMP)
Federal government experience
Atlassian Certified Professional
