Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Python Developer with 12+ years of hands-on development experience, specifically within the Aviation domain. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that support aviation operations, safety, analytics, and real-time data processing. This is a remote role, requiring strong ownership, collaboration, and domain expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Python applications for aviation systems.
- Work closely with aviation domain experts to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Handle real-time and batch data processing related to flight operations, aircraft data, scheduling, and maintenance systems.
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security, adhering to aviation industry standards.
- Integrate with third-party aviation systems, APIs, and data feeds.
- Perform code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior developers.
- Participate in architecture discussions, system design, and technology selection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, Product, and Data teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements relevant to aviation software.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12+ years of professional experience in software development with strong expertise in Python.
- Mandatory hands-on experience in the Aviation domain (airlines, airports, ATC systems, MRO, flight operations, or aviation analytics).
- Strong experience with Python frameworks: FastAPI / Flask / Django.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and REST API development.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform).
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience working in remote and distributed teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with real-time streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Exposure to Big Data / Analytics in aviation systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with high-availability and mission-critical systems.
- Understanding of aviation standards, regulations, or compliance frameworks.
