Software Tester

The Software Tester will support the quality assurance and testing of a Windows-based desktop application developed using C#. This entry-level role focuses on validating functionality, usability, and reliability of software solutions while working closely with developers, product owners, and other cross-functional teams. The position follows an Agile/Lean development methodology and requires onsite presence in Johnson City, TN, five days per week (40 hours) for the initial months, with potential for a hybrid schedule thereafter. Fully remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases for Windows-based desktop applications

• Validate software functionality against business and technical requirements

• Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing

• Review requirements and technical documentation to understand test scope

• Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes

• Assist in creating and maintaining test cases, test scenarios, and test data

• Ensure adherence to software quality standards and testing procedures

• Support testing for localization and environment-specific requirements

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• Basic understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, and STLC

• Familiarity with Windows-based applications and testing methodologies

• Exposure to C# or object-oriented programming concepts through education

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

• Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
